Rewind back to last week, I attended a beginner yoga class as a replacement for my usual intermediate/advance class. All these while I've been thinking about my advancement, where and how I can improve my skills and not until last week that I found out that I've been neglecting the basics. The stretches, correct postures for the maximum effect, all these can't be neglected, even if I'm already taking advance classes because without practicing the basics I can't proceed to higher level. This got me thinking that the same term should be applied to our everyday life, in work, family, friends and loved ones. Going back to basic is when everything is so simple and easier to start.
Today, as usual our instructor got us to attempt some pose we always hesitate to do. Headstand. While we were trying our very best to get our legs up, she was explaining on what are the benefits, listing it out .....and suddenly....anti-aging came out, and on 2nd thought I was trying to persuade a yoga mate to do it as I need to rest 1st, so I told her 'hey, faster do, can anti-age want.'....immediately she responded 'are you saying I'm old?'....oops in my mind, I just quickly say, 'aiya, no. I also need it.'
My point of saying it to her was because I naively thought all ladies entering their 20s should already start to prevent aging in any best way they could.
Another lesson learnt, no matter what situation, who and how old they are, never mention the word ANTI and AGING combined together, or even AGE alone. Just keep my mouth shut next time. haha! Well, I do learn alot during yoga classes on non-related topics about yoga don't I.
